Lefteris Gyro: Tarrytown’s Best Spot for a Greek-Inspired Meal

Hey there, foodies! I recently had the pleasure of visiting Lefteris Gyro, a Greek restaurant that I can confidently say blew me away.

My wife, daughter, and I were in for a treat as soon as we walked through the door and were greeted with the warm and inviting ambiance complete with traditional Greek music playing in the background.

Let me tell you, it was the perfect setting for a delightful family dinner.

Restaurant Vibe

The restaurant gave off a warm and inviting vibe. It’s comfortable and well-maintained, making it a nice place to relax and enjoy a good meal. The background music, featuring traditional Greek songs, added to the overall ambiance and made for a truly authentic experience. The attention to detail and care given to the decor made the restaurant a stand-out and one of the best we’ve been to.

Starters

Fried Calamari for Appetizer
Fried Calamari

The starters were delish, particularly the Fried Calamari. It was perfectly crisp on the outside, tender on the inside, and served with a side of marinara sauce. We loved that it wasn’t overly fried or greasy and tasted fresh.

Drinks

FIX Greek Beer

I had an ice cold glass of FIX Greek Beer prior to my meal coming out. FIX is my go to beer when enjoying Greek food.

The Food

Lemon Potatoes
Lemon Potatoes

Their lemon potatoes were perfectly cooked and had a satisfyingly creamy texture, while still maintaining a firm bite. While the lemon flavor was prominent it wasn’t overpowering. The seasoning was perfect and the potatoes complemented the main course.

Greek Salad
Lefteris Platter

For my main entree, I had the Lefteris Platter. This included generous portions of Greek Salad, the best warm Pita Bread, various meats (Gyro, Souvlaki, and Bifteki ), crispy fries, and Tzatziki sauce. I thought everything was well cooked. No complaints from me!

Bifteki Platter

My daughter had the Bifteki platter (a Greek style chopped steak) with rice and Greek Salad. She thought it was all delicious. We both had plenty of leftovers to take home and enjoy the next day.

My wife had the Lamb Kabob with pita bread and although the photo looks underwhelming in size, she reported it was quite satisfying and delicious. The Lamb was juicy, flavorful, and well seasoned with a blend of spices that gave the meat a unique and delicious taste.

Service

The service was on par with what we enjoy of a good restaurant. Our server Linda went above and beyond to make sure our experience was enjoyable. She was friendly and attentive, always making sure everything was to our satisfaction. Her timing was also spot on, ensuring that our food was brought out quickly and that our glasses were refilled in a timely manner. One of my wife’s pet peeves is having an empty glass of water. That never happened here. Linda’s warm and genuine personality made our dining experience truly memorable. Thank you, Linda!

Desserts

a slice of cheesecake baklava
Cheesecake Baklava

We all shared a piece of Cheesecake Baklava. It was a decadent. The layers of phyllo pastry were crispy and flaky, providing a perfect contrast to the creamy and rich cheesecake filling. The sweetness of the honey and the crunchiness of the chopped nuts were perfectly balanced, making this dessert a symphony of flavors. It was a very pleasant twist on the traditional Greek baklava and a perfect end to our meal.

Final Thoughts

Overall, I recommend Lefteris Gyro if you are in Tarrytown and looking for a satisfying Greek dining experience. The food, service, and atmosphere were all first-rate and we will definitely be back soon.
