If you are a Mexican food fan and near Forest Hills, Queens, look no further than 5 Burro Cafe. This restaurant makes some of the best Mexican food my wife, and I have ever had, and even though the line is usually long, we have yet to be disappointed waiting for their food.
The atmosphere at 5 Burro Cafe is lively and energetic, with a mix of families and groups of friends enjoying their meals.
The decor adds to the festive atmosphere with colorful murals and traditional Mexican decorations.
The pop music plays at a moderate level in the background, making it easy to carry on a conversation without having to shout.
The servers usually start you off with complimentary salsa and chips which are both freshly made on the premises.
They are soo good.
We’ve also ordered the guac and chips (pictured above).
Unfortunately, the guac was just ok and not memorable.
I recommend saving space for the main entrees, which are substantial.
The drinks here are straight up amazing!
They bartenders don’t skimp on the alcohol and they leave you wanting more.
You can’t go wrong with any of the flavored Margaritas, like Watermelon or Passion Fruit. Our favorites.
You can have them on the rocks or frozen?
They’re delish either way.
We’ve tried a variety of dishes at 5 Burro Cafe, and been impressed by the bold flavors and fresh ingredients in every dish.
The chipotle pork chops and burritos have been standout dishes for my wife and me.
My wife usually orders the 2 Burrito entree when we eat 5 Burro cafe.
She likes to mix it up, so she gets 1 Chicken and 1 steak.
It’s so good that we have to stop ourselves from going in every time we drive by.
I’m a big fan of these Chipotle Pork Chops.
I want to point out that they are baked and take longer to come out of the kitchen.
It’s so worth the wait, though. They are tender, full of flavor, and the Chipotle spice is on the money.
Different day, same tasty chops but with different sides- healthy veggies and Mexican fries.
I loved this medium cooked skirt steak I had yet on another occasion. Bursting with flavor and cooked the way I asked. I will totally have it again.
The waitstaff at 5 Burro Cafe have always been friendly and attentive throughout our visits.
They happily answer any questions we have about the menu and are always quick to check in with us and refill our drinks when they are low.
Unfortunately, I don’t have much to report in this area. We have yet to try their sweets since we are usually stuffed and can’t fit in another bite. You will definitely get an update after our next visit.
If you’re in the mood for delicious Mexican food and a festive atmosphere, 5 Burro Cafe is the place to go. The waitstaff are friendly and attentive, the food is very good, the drinks are top-notch, and the prices are just right.
